From $53,449 per annum (pro-rata) + weekend penalty rates + super

Permanent part time - 25 hours per week

The Five Dock Leisure Centre (FDLC) is a community focussed leisure centre, managed by the City of Canada Bay, located in Sydney's thriving inner west.

The Centre comprises of a two court basketball stadium that caters for indoor soccer, netball, badminton and basketball, a competition standard gymnastics hall, as well as a leading health club comprising of two group fitness studios, cardio and weights areas. The Sports Programs Officer role provides the successful applicant a rare opportunity to break into the highly competitive Sports Management Sector.

This position provides effective support and management of the Centre’s sports programs with a strong focus on customer service, as well as acting as Manager on Duty when required. The Sports Program Officer is responsible for the day to day coordination of the sports programs competitions, bookings and relevant stadium management. Reporting to the Coordinator Sports Programs, you will provide operational and administrative support through coordinating the competitions, engaging the users of the stadium and ensuring continuous improvement in our operations.

The hours of work for this position are:

Monday: 5.15pm - 10.15pm (5 hours)

Wednesday: 5.15pm - 10.15pm (5 hours)

Thursday: 5.15pm - 10.15pm (5 hours)

Friday: 5.15pm - 10.15pm (5 hours)

Sunday: 2.15pm - 7.15pm (5 hours)

These days/hours are negotiable with the successful candidate, however due to the nature of the role evening shifts will be mostly required to adequately manage the competitions.

Selection Criteria Essential
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working with children check
  • Two years experience in the sport and recreation industry or relevant experience
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Indoor sports facilities
  • Competition or Match Day management experience
