- The leading women's participation sport in Australia
- Senior management role
- Ensure the sustained success of elite level netball for South Australia and beyond
Netball SA, the peak State Sporting Organisation for netball in South Australia, is responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout South Australia and has the responsibility for servicing its 32,000 members, the operations of Priceline Stadium and the running of its elite team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager - High Performance is responsible for planning, driving and evaluating all elements of high performance to ensure the sustained success of elite level netball for South Australia at a local, national and international level.
As part of the senior executive team, this role manages a key department within the Netball SA operations. This includes shaping a vision, reviewing technical performance, developing operational plans and providing leadership to create an effective, coordinated and consistent approach to athlete, coach and umpire development and elite pathways for the long term development of those involved, from underage level through the state based Premier League, to the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Australian Diamonds.
The role will build a centralised high performance program and network; utilising best practice and innovation in multi-disciplinary high performance teams to identify the highest standard of coaching and talent selection and maximise the success of the high performance pathway.
To be considered for this role you will need to be a dynamic leader with an ability to swiftly build relationships, credibility and strategic partnerships with stakeholders including elite coaches and athletes, umpires, sports science, sports medicine personnel and program partners. You will need to be an experienced High Performance professional with proven success in developing, implementing and leading large and complex sport programs including the planning, implementation and ongoing management of cultural and organisational change. Strong analytical, negotiation, financial budget management and strategic planning skills are also required. A netball background is not essential; however you must have a strong ambition for the sport’s success.
This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the delivery of high performance programs and elite pathways both strategically and operationally throughout netball not only in South Australia, but also flowing into the national and international levels of the sport.
Why work for Netball South Australia?
Following an organisation restructure, this is an exciting time to be joining Netball SA. With the launch of Suncorp Super Netball in 2017 beginning a new era for netball in Australia, this role will work across the entire elite pathway of netball, including the professional athletes competing for the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the Australian Diamonds. This is a fantastic opportunity to mentor an enthusiastic and committed team and shape a vision for elite netball in South Australia and beyond.
