VIS LEAD PHYSICAL PREPARATION COACH (WINTER SPORTS)

An exciting full time opportunity exists at the VIS for a dynamic and passionate high performance professional to join its team in the role of Lead Physical Preparation Coach for Winter Sports. 

The position will be based between the VIS headquarters in Melbourne’s Albert Park precinct and the Olympic Winter Institute Australia headquarters at the Icehouse, Docklands. This primary role is delivery of strength and conditioning services to the VIS Aerial Skiing program, and other Winter Sport athletes identified as part of the AIS and Australia’s Winning Edge High Performance strategy.

This will involve supporting those athletes and coaches through the provision of individualised physical preparation programs to win medals in major international competition and achieve success at World Championships and Olympic Games.

To be successful in this role, you should have had extensive experience working as a strength and conditioning coach with high performance athletes and a proven ability working within an integrated / multi-disciplinary team environment. This experience should include demonstrable instances of working with the rehabilitation of complex sport injuries. The successful applicant needs to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound organisational and planning skills and attention to detail.

  • ASCA Pro Structure S&C Coach (or working towards)
  • MSc in Sport Science/ Strength & Conditioning or equivalent
