The Aqua Exercise Instructor Skill Set delivered by MSAC Institute of Training allows qualified fitness and exercise professionals the ability to deliver freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style water-based exercise sessions to a group of clients.
This course is delivered in 2 options:
Option 1: Pool Lifeguard - $850.00
Students undertaking this option will be issued with a SISSS00111 – Pool Lifeguard (Deep water) Accreditation so they have the skills required to rescue a client in distress. This additional course valued at $260.00 will make you highly desirable for a role within an Aquatic Facility.
Option 2: Standard - $800.00
Students undertaking this option will not be issued with the SISSS00111 – Pool Lifeguard (Deep water) Accreditation they will however still be qualified as Aqua Exercise Instructors.
The MSAC Institute of Training is a State Government Statutory Authority and a leading provider of training within the Sports, Fitness, Aquatics and Recreation Industry, is one of only a handful of providers nationally who offer the Aqua Exercise Instructor Skill Set to qualified fitness and exercise professionals.
Professionals who apply must hold a Certificate III in Fitness or higher, current HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid certificate and have an appropriate level of pool fitness and endurance.
This course will be delivered over 5 (6 if obtaining Pool Lifeguard Accreditation) sessions with additional online assessments. Students will be required to complete written assignments within 6 weeks after the course.
For assessment purposes, trainer observation is conducted over the duration of the program and practical assessments are conducted throughout the course. Theory components will be assessed 6 weeks after the completion of the course. To ensure these assessment requirements are met, participants are to attend all sessions and successfully complete all assessments to be considered for an award.
Students will also receive pre-coursework that is required to be completed before the attendance of each session.
Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Credit for an equivalent unit of competency previously achieved will be granted upon receipt of certificate evidence. RPL is available for this course through an application process.
