What is the Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre (SGAC)?
The SGAC is a bold new 7,800sqm development and is the latest addition to the Rooty Hill RSL Ltd’s ever growing portfolio of community facilities. The centre will house a 4,000sqm international standard gymnastics facility, two 25 metre swimming pools and a sports medicine and rehabilitation centre. The SGAC will be introducing facilities that were previously unavailable to the people of Western Sydney, in particular a medical and rehabilitation centre.
The gymnastics area will house custom built, state of the art gymnastics facilities, and will become the new home of the Gymnastics NSW Men's Elite program. Complete with a 1,200 seat arena, this facility will be of an international standard that can host the highest level of competition. Whilst elite gymnasts are catered for, so too are our youngest members, with the capacity for over 2,000 children to participate in gymnastics programs per week. Children can also participate in the Learn to Swim program, which will see more than 1,500 classes held per week in a dedicated 25 metre pool.
When will the positions be open for applications?
There will be a staggared recruitment process with different roles opening for applications as early as March and others as late as mid-late May. Keep an eye on the Sportspeople Jobs Market for opportunities as they become available.
Where is the SGAC located?
The address is 12 North Pde Rooty Hill, adjacent to the Rooty Hill RSL complex.
When does the SGAC open?
The SGAC is expected to open to the public in August 2013.
When do the positions currently advertised commence duties?
The roles currently being advertised have staggered commencement dates. Training and inductions are due to take place in June and July at varying times dependant on the position commencement date.
What are the opening hours of the SGAC?
5am to 10pm Monday to Friday; and 6am to 8pm weekends and public holidays. Staff are expected to work on a shift basis involving weekend, evening and public holidays.

I'm not qualified for some of the positions such as Learn to Swim Teacher or Lifeguard - can I still apply?
The SGAC will provide training for a limited number of successful candidates for some positions. Ultimately, we are looking for people with the right attitude to provide the level of customer service for which the Rooty Hill RSL organisation is renowned. If you feel you have the personal attributes to be able to deliver a high level of customer service and would be able to fulfil the requirements to obtain the relevant qualification, please send in your application.
