Why has this position been re-advertised?
At the commencement of every recruitment assignment Sportspeople makes a commitment to our client to secure the absolute best candidate for the role. Unlike other agencies who view their recruitment assignments as simply another "job to fill", Sportspeople takes great care in each and every appointment, making sure the fit is absolutely right for both the employer and candidate.
Sportspeople understands hiring new staff is an extremely important business decision, so getting it right the first time is paramount.
There are certain occasions where the recruitment process does not, in the opinion of Sportspeople, produce an initial result which fulfils the needs of our client. In these circumstances it is usual practice for Sportspeople to recommend the role be re-opened or the close date extended.
Here are a few examples of where we would recommend this to occur:
- After completing the screening and interview process one candidate is identified as significantly superior to others, however declines the offer of employment. Where there is a significant difference in the experiences and attributes of the remaining candidates Sportspeople prefers to go back to market.
- During the recruitment phase a client makes a substantial change to the position duties, remuneration or other job feature (e.g. location), Sportspeople prefers to go back to market.
- In circumstances where the timing of the recruitment schedule (e.g. Xmas/New Year, Olympic or Commonwealth Games, World Championships) adversely impacts on candidate availability and/or the number of candidates, Sportspeople prefers to go back to market. In some cases the role may be re-advertised with an invitation for all candidates to re-apply and/or candidates advised they will be re-considered for the role. On other occasions candidates may be advised they have been unsuccessful and will not be re-considered.
As part of our Candidate Management System Sportspeople will advise you whether you should re-apply or whether you will be re-considered. Please be assured we appreciate the time and effort which goes into applying for a job and thank you for your interest in this role.
