The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is structured with a blended delivery, allowing candidates to complete a self-paced, theory module before attending a 4 hour face to face practical assessment.
As well as receiving their pre-course material, candidates will also receive a First Aid in a Box, which contains a personal, inflatable manikin and bandage pack to be utilised before and during the practical assessment.
Online (Self-Paced) + 4 hr Face to Face Practical Assessment
Candidates will receive a token code, which will grant them access to Royal Life Saving’s Learning Management System to complete their First Aid online theory module. The online resource is a dynamic learning experience with theory modules, videos and multiple choice questions.
Upon completion, the website will display a ‘completion certificate’; a printed copy, or a screen shot is to be given to the trainer on the day of the course as proof of completion.
During the face to face assessment, all candidates are required to successfully complete a range of practical assessments. A candidate must perform at least two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR on both an infant and an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
This course also requires practical application of Resuscitation and other practical scenarios that will require kneeling on the floor.
In order to achieve a Statement of Attainment, candidates must successfully complete the practical components under the award conditions.
The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is valid for 3 years, while the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation unit is valid for 12 months, in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
