Baseball Queensland is expanding its regional workforce and is seeking energetic, reliable and community-minded people to join our team as Casual Development Officers across regional Queensland.
This is a casual, demand-led role supporting the delivery and growth of baseball programs in schools, clubs and local communities.
You do not need an extensive baseball background. We are looking for people who enjoy working with children and young people, are confident delivering physical activity, communicate well and can create a positive and engaging experience for participants.
About the role
As a Casual Development Officer, you may be involved in:
- Delivering engaging baseball, Baseball5 and introductory sporting activities in schools
- Supporting Sporting Schools programs, school clinics and participation initiatives
- Promoting local baseball clubs and helping create pathways from schools into community sport
- Assisting with Come & Try Days, holiday programs, community events and club recruitment activities
- Supporting Baseball Queensland regional programs and initiatives
- Working alongside BQ Development Officers and local baseball stakeholders
- Setting up and packing down equipment
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive delivery environment
- Representing Baseball Queensland professionally in schools and the wider community
Most school-based delivery occurs during school hours, with additional opportunities potentially available before or after school, during school holidays and at community events.

Experience in coaching, teaching, education, community sport, recreation, baseball or softball would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Training, onboarding and ongoing support will be provided by Baseball Queensland.

Employment Details
This is a casual position, with work offered based on program demand and availability. There are no guaranteed minimum hours.
Remuneration is $31.00 - $41.80 per hour + superannuation, dependent on age and the applicable classification under the Sporting Organisations Award 2020.
Successful applicants will be required to meet Baseball Queensland’s employment and safeguarding requirements, including holding or obtaining a valid Queensland Working with Children Blue Card and having reliable transport to attend program locations.
