SurfEdge Sports Physiotherapy is a growing independent clinic in Maroochydore focused on sports and load-related injuries, running injuries, bone stress injuries, tendinopathy, adolescent athletes, post-operative rehabilitation and return to sport.
We've recently expanded into a purpose-built rehabilitation facility, giving us the space and equipment to take patients from initial assessment through progressive rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and return to performance.
We're looking for a physiotherapist who wants to think critically, deliver high-quality rehabilitation and actively build a strong sports and musculoskeletal caseload.
We like clinicians who think
If you enjoy the problem-solving side of physiotherapy, you'll fit in well here. We value clinicians who take a good history, assess with purpose, develop a working hypothesis and use reassessment to determine whether their management is working.
You should be curious, comfortable reasoning through a presentation and willing to change your approach when the clinical picture doesn't fit. Just as importantly, you need to communicate your reasoning. Patients should understand what you've found, what you're working on and where their rehabilitation is heading.
What we do
You'll work predominantly with active and sporting populations across:
- Sports and running-related injuries
- Bone stress injuries
- Tendinopathy
- Adolescent sporting injuries
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Strength and conditioning
- Objective testing
- Return-to-sport rehabilitation
You'll have access to our rehabilitation gym, commercial cardio and gait analysis equipment, strength equipment and VALD testing technology. We also deliver ONERO® for osteoporosis and osteopenia and there are opportunities to expand into this space.
Build your caseload and your reputation
We're looking for someone who wants to actively develop their own caseload and become known within the Sunshine Coast sporting community.
You'll be expected to build professional relationships with GPs, specialists, coaches, gyms and sporting organisations, communicate well with referrers and look for opportunities to connect with the sporting populations you want to work with. There are also opportunities for sports and event coverage and to contribute educational content around your areas of interest.
We're looking for someone with initiative who wants to build something, rather than simply wait for their diary to fill.
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Love sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Enjoy clinical reasoning and problem-solving
- Have strong assessment and communication skills
- Enjoy progressive loading and gym-based rehabilitation
- Reassess and adapt rather than treating from a template
- Take ownership of your patients and their progress
- Want to take patients beyond pain relief and back to performance
- Are proactive about developing your caseload and professional network
- Are curious, coachable and open to feedback
We're open to experienced clinicians as well as early-career physiotherapists with strong foundations, initiative and a genuine drive to develop in sports rehabilitation.
The role can be full-time or substantial part-time and includes competitive remuneration with performance bonuses + super, professional development allowance, regular mentoring, reception support and opportunities for sports and event involvement.
Current AHPRA registration and Australian working rights are required. Unfortunately we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
