If you know basketball and want to be right in the middle of the action, we'd love to hear from you. Norths Basketball is looking for referees to join our officiating team, from first-timers picking up the whistle to experienced black and whites ready for a new challenge.
We're recruiting across our Friday, Saturday and Sunday competitions, working within one of NSW's leading basketball associations and alongside a community that's serious about developing great officials, not just filling a roster.

Norths Basketball is a community-based, not-for-profit association with more than 45 years of history and more than 6,200 registered playing members across Sydney's North Shore. Our competitions run at pace and at volume, which means real court time, real development, and a genuine pathway if you want to progress your refereeing career.
We're ambitious about where we're going, and that includes building an officiating group known for its consistency, professionalism and care for the game.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for referees who bring a genuine interest in basketball, but just as importantly, are calm under pressure, fair-minded and prepared to keep learning.
You'll be someone who:
- Applies the rules of the game consistently, fairly and with confidence
- Wants to keep learning, taking on training and development to sharpen your game
- Communicates clearly with players, coaches and fellow officials
- Brings a positive attitude, showing up prepared and ready to contribute
- Understands that officiating shapes the experience of everyone on the court, players, coaches and spectators alike
- Represents Norths with integrity and respect, on and off the court
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Basketball Australia Referee Accreditation (desirable, not essential).
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

- Friday: 7:30pm - 11:00pm
- Saturday: 3:00pm - 8:00pm
- Sunday: 4:00pm - 10:45pm
