South Adelaide Basketball Club is seeking an experienced and motivated coach to lead our NBL1 Men’s program in 2027.
This is an opportunity to take charge of a successful senior program within one of South Australia’s largest and most established basketball clubs and play an important role in the continued development of our men’s pathway.
We have a strong group of emerging athletes progressing through our pathway from Under 18 District basketball into Youth League and then into our NBL1 Men’s program.
We are looking for a Head Coach who understands the importance of that pathway and can work closely with our basketball department, Under 18 coaches and Youth League program to identify, develop and prepare emerging players for senior basketball.
A key part of the role will be strengthening the connection between Under 18, Youth League and NBL1, giving our young male athletes a clear and genuine pathway to progress within South Adelaide.
We want a coach who can lead a competitive program while also building a strong environment where players and coaches can develop, perform and feel connected to our club.
The Role
The Head Coach will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the NBL1 Men’s program, including:
- Team preparation and game strategy
- Player development and performance
- Establishing clear standards and expectations
- Building a positive, accountable and team-first culture
- Working closely with our Under 18 and Youth League programs to strengthen the pathway into NBL1
- Supporting the development of assistant coaches
- Building strong relationships with players, coaches and club staff
- Representing South Adelaide Basketball Club professionally on and off the court
