Description

Development Officers play a critical role in the ongoing success of Little Athletics in Queensland. With the primary remit to increase the number of participants in the sport through the coordination of programs to attract new participants, while also providing a quality experience to those already participating.

Alongside other members of the Development team, the Development Officer will organise and deliver programs within schools, clubs and the community to meet the needs of athletes, students, coaches and officials.

The role requires a self-driven focus on achieving success and the ability to communicate effectively with adults, as well as children. There is a clear focus to grow participation which requires perseverance and enthusiasm, and in return reap the rewards of seeing thousands of children having fun and being their best.

The role requires a mixture of office and field work as well as regular travel by road.

We are seeking people with:

  • Knowledge of athletics and particularly Little Athletics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents & children.
  • Excellent program planning and delivery skills.
  • Excellent decision making & organisation.
  • Good energy & an enjoyment for coaching.
  • High level of customer focus.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with others as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work effectively in flexible environment and keep to tight timelines.
