Mandurah Swimming Club is seeking an experienced, passionate and motivated Head Swim Coach to lead our coaching program and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the Club.

With more than 120 swimmers, Mandurah Swimming Club provides a pathway from junior development through to State and National competition. We have a proud history of developing swimmers who achieve State and National representation while maintaining a strong focus on participation, personal development, inclusion and enjoyment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing swimmers, mentoring coaches and building a positive, high-performing club culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head Coach is a key leadership position within Mandurah Swimming Club. Working collaboratively with the Club Committee, the Head Coach will lead the development, coordination and delivery of the Club's swimming program across all squads.

The role will oversee and mentor Development and Junior Coaches, ensuring swimmers have clear and appropriate progression pathways based on age, ability, experience and individual goals.

The successful applicant will combine strong technical coaching knowledge with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. You will be comfortable working independently while being an active and collaborative member of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and deliver programs across all squads.
  • Set clear targets and progression pathways appropriate to each swimmer’s age and ability.
  • Lead, motivate and support swimmers to achieve their individual and squad goals.
  • Work collaboratively with coaches, parents and the Club Committee to support the Club’s growth and success.
  • Mentor and develop Development and Junior Coaches.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and performance-focused Club culture.
  • Communicate positively, professionally and effectively with swimmers, parents, coaches and the Club Committee.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a coach who is:

  • An experienced and knowledgeable swimming coach with a proven record of swimmer development.
  • Capable of developing athletes toward State and National-level competition.
  • A strong leader who can inspire swimmers and bring coaches together.
  • Passionate about developing young people as athletes and individuals.
  • A positive communicator who builds strong relationships with swimmers, parents and the Committee.
  • Organised, professional and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • Committed to creating a strong club culture based on passion, belief and success.
  • Interested in developing not only swimmers, but also the next generation of coaches.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Australian Swim Coach Licence.
  • Current ASCTA Membership.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current CPR and/or Senior First Aid Certificate, with Senior First Aid desirable.
  • Police Clearance, if required for Swimming WA or ASCTA membership.
