Description

Cricket ACT is seeking a highly organised and relationship-focused professional to lead the administration of ACT Premier Cricket and support the growth and development of our volunteer network.

This is a diverse role that combines competition administration, stakeholder engagement, volunteer support and community sport operations. While experience in cricket would be an advantage, it is not essential. We're looking for someone who can build strong relationships, manage competing priorities and deliver great outcomes for clubs, volunteers and the wider cricket community.

Key Responsibilities

Premier Cricket Competition

  • Coordinate the administration and delivery of the ACT Premier Cricket Competition.
  • Manage fixtures, results, statistics, venue allocations and competition records.
  • Build strong relationships with Premier Cricket clubs and act as their key point of contact.
  • Coordinate disciplinary and governance processes in line with Cricket ACT policies.
  • Support the annual review of competition rules and playing conditions.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate competition documentation.

Volunteer Engagement

  • Support the recruitment, development and retention of volunteers across the ACT cricket community.
  • Deliver volunteer training, resources and development opportunities.
  • Work with clubs to create positive and inclusive volunteer experiences.
  • Assist in implementing initiatives that strengthen volunteer participation and club sustainability.
  • Build strong relationships with clubs, schools and community stakeholders.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Experience in volunteer management, community engagement, sport administration, program coordination or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience coordinating competitions, leagues or structured programs.
  • Understanding of the sporting, community or not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making.

Requirements

  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Working With Vulnerable People registration (or ability to obtain).

Cricket ACT is committed to providing a safe environment for children and young people and expects all employees to contribute to a strong child-safe culture.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
