Australian Athletics (AA) is the governing body for Athletics in this country. It is a National Sporting Organisation whose major partner is the Australian Sports Commission. AA is responsible for athletics, including high performance, participation, coaching, officiating, juniors, para-athletics, domestic and international competition. Australian Athletics has a critical role in leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in Australia and promoting excellence in performance.
As we head towards the 2028 LA Games & 2032 Brisbane Games, it is an exciting time to join our Team! We are currently seeking to recruit an Integrity Officer (0.6 FTE, 3 days per week).
About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager - Integrity this role supports the embedding of the National Integrity Framework (NIF) policies, safe sport procedures and systems; education and training; monitoring and reporting; meeting best practice standards and providing quality support to athletics organisations, clubs, and centres.
Your core duties will include:
- Coordinate the delivery of Australian Athletics' specific initiatives and other strategies based on achieving consistent compliance and alignment with NIF policies and regulatory requirements in athletics.
- Provide quality support and advice to Member Associations and athletics clubs and centres to improve their understanding and adoption of best practice.
- Deliver training that meets the needs of stakeholders and builds consistent capability.
- Manage complaints made or escalated to the national level and provide input to complaint outcomes, including sanctions and recommendations.
What we are looking for:
Someone who displays an ongoing commitment and initiative for creating safe and inclusive environments for individuals, particularly children and vulnerable people, to participate in athletics. We're looking for someone who can bring their attention to detail, adaptive communication and stakeholder management skills, and a strong understanding of the compliance landscape in sport.
Ideally you will have:
- Relevant qualification in law, governance or compliance.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of safeguarding in sport, including the Child Safe Principles and relevant legislation.
- Solid experience providing advice and guidance on safeguarding and compliance matters.
- Understanding of the National Integrity Framework and sport integrity landscape, particularly the complexities and challenges.
- Understanding of robust governance and compliance processes and ability to integrate systems and technology that improves adoption rates.
- Proven ability to raise the profile of reporting, non-compliance issues and experience managing complaints.
- A keen commitment to clean sport and abiding by AA's National Integrity Framework suite of policies, the Australian National Anti-doping Policy and AA Code of Conduct.
- Well developed capability for difficult conversations and experience in applying trauma-informed practices.
- Hold and maintain a valid Working with Children Check and (or ability to hold) and a Police Check.
