Cricket Tasmania has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced coach or coaches to lead its male high-performance batting programs.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the position may be appointed as one combined role across the Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes programs or split into two specialist roles aligned with either the Tigers (Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup) or Hurricanes (BBL) program. Candidates are encouraged to apply for the combined role or for either specialist role individually, depending on their experience, expertise and availability.
The successful candidate(s) will lead the development of individual batters and contribute to team performance across the Tasmanian Tigers and/or Hobart Hurricanes. Competing at the highest level of domestic cricket, these programs require batters who can adapt their skills, decision-making and approach across red-ball, 50-over and T20 formats.
We are seeking a coach with demonstrated success at domestic and/or international level and experience developing elite and emerging batters. Central to the role is the ability to motivate, influence and develop a diverse group of professional cricketers through a people-first coaching philosophy.
The Batting Coach will support the Head Coach's strategic vision and lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of a clear, progressive batting program. This requires excellent planning and organisational skills, strong technical and tactical knowledge, and proven experience designing individual development plans and measuring player progression.
The successful candidate(s) will create clarity, energy and high standards while empowering players to take ownership of their development and performance. They will understand that successful teams are built through alignment with clear systems, collective commitment to strategy and individual investment in improvement.
Highly effective interpersonal and people-management skills are essential, alongside the ability to collaborate with Head Coaches, fellow coaches, performance specialists, analytics staff and pathway programs. We are seeking a proactive, adaptable and positive coach who embraces innovation, evidence-informed practice and continuous professional development.
