Lead and grow Men's Artistic Gymnastics at one of South Australia's premier gymnastics clubs.
Tea Tree Gully Gymsports is one of South Australia's largest and most successful gymnastics clubs, with more than 1,600 active members and a proud 60-year history of developing athletes from recreational participation through to national and international competition.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Coach to lead and further develop our competitive MAG program. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated coach who is passionate about athlete development, coach mentoring and growing participation within the sport.
The position is available as either casual or full-time, depending on the experience and availability of the successful applicant.
About the Role
As the Senior MAG Coach, you will provide the technical leadership of our Men's Artistic Gymnastics program while fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture.
Working collaboratively with athletes, families, coaches and management, you will continue to build a strong and sustainable program that supports gymnasts from grassroots participation through to high-performance competition.
Key Responsibilities
Athlete Development
- Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality training programs appropriate to each athlete's age, ability and goals.
- Ensure programs align with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics South Australia requirements.
- Monitor athlete progression and regularly evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develop athletes from recreational and competitive pathways through to state, national and international competition where appropriate.
Technical Leadership
- Maintain current knowledge of:
- Skill development and progression
- State and national competition systems
- Coach education pathways
- Competition requirements
- Gymnastics safety and risk management
- Apply contemporary coaching practices and promote technical excellence.
Coach Development
- Mentor and support assistant coaches.
- Assist with coach education and succession planning.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Member Experience
- Provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for athletes and families.
- Build positive relationships with members, volunteers and staff.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusion and teamwork.
Program Administration
- Maintain accurate records including:
- Program documentation
- Competition entries
- Attendance records
- Incident and accident reports
- Respond to emails and communications professionally and promptly.
- Work collaboratively with the Member Services team to ensure all program information remains current.
Facility & Equipment
- Ensure equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately and packed away correctly.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organised and professional training environment.
Club Leadership
- Work collaboratively across all gymnastics disciplines within the club.
- Attend planning meetings, competitions and club events.
- Participate in annual Performance Development Reviews.
- Support the Club Management team and Board of Directors where required.
About You
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- Significant coaching experience within Men's Artistic Gymnastics.
- Current Gymnastics Australia Technical Membership and appropriate coaching accreditation (or the ability to obtain).
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for athlete development and coach mentoring.
- A commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive club culture.
