Description

We are seeking a versatile and highly organised Social Media & Communications Executive with 4-6 years of experience to join our passionate, small agency specialising in sports content creation. Social media is a large part of this role, but we need someone equally comfortable writing website articles, drafting press releases, and representing our sporting clients on the ground at events.

The right candidate must have the ability to juggle multiple clients and projects at once as well as a proven track record of managing competing priorities while still delivering creative, high-quality work.

You will manage a variety of exciting client accounts within the sports sector - crafting compelling content, maximising engagement, writing for the web and media, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of social media channels.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Content Creation & Execution

  • Create and distribute engaging content across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and others).
  • Develop and schedule daily posts, live event coverage, and stories to grow audiences and brand visibility.
  • Tailor content to the sports industry, maintaining creativity and consistency aligned with each client's brand.
  • Engage with online communities, responding to comments and messages to drive engagement.
  • Build stories that connect with fans! 

Writing & Content Development

  • Write and edit website articles, eDM content, and other long-form content for clients.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and media materials.
  • Produce clear, engaging copy across formats - from social captions to full articles - with strong attention to grammar, tone, and brand voice.

Client & Project Coordination  

  • Juggle multiple clients, social accounts, and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring every client's expectations are met or exceeded in a timely manner.
  • Manage competing priorities across projects, developing content calendars and strategies that keep each client on track.
  • Provide proactive client support and ongoing communication on content performance, trends, and new opportunities.

Event Operations

  • Attend live sporting events to deliver media operations (management of media calls, distribution of media materials), social media content capture and distribution, work with athletes and coaches. 
  • Develop and execute social media and content strategies around live events.
  • Work with event teams to ensure content and communications align with event goals.
  • This work requires staff to work weekends.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in social media, content, or communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong writing skills across formats, with experience writing website articles and press releases
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms, tools, and analytics, including scheduling, content creation, and reporting
  • Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Brandwatch, AgoraPulse, Meta Business Suite)
  • Expertise in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills 
  • Comfortable attending and working at live events, sometimes outside standard hours.
  • Good knowledge of the sports industry and what resonates with sports fans and audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for sports and a desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
