The Role

The Head Coach of Touch Football will play a pivotal role in enhancing and leading our touch football program at Caulfield Grammar School. As a cornerstone of our school's sport offerings, this position is crucial in upholding our high standards of touch football development, student inclusion, and quality coaching. Caulfield Grammar School takes immense pride in its sport program, supported by a strong pathway initiative that benefits both boys and girls.

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee this prestigious program in a casual/fixed term - part-time opportunity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the touch football program on and off the field, including the design and implementation of performance standards and goals, program management including resourcing, match scheduling and associated administration tasks and managing a diverse group of stakeholders.

Key Duties

  • Design a Touch Football curriculum that will promote a consistent and contemporary game style throughout all Year Levels and for all student abilities with clear performance goals and objectives
  • Oversee team and player development and ensure that coaches conduct selections in accordance with CGS Selection Policy guidelines and communication with students is timely and appropriate
  • Identify areas for coach development and prepare guidelines and materials to enhance coaching delivery and maintain regular communication with coaches and monitoring of delivery of sports program
  • Act as the school’s representative for Touch Football and attend activities such as Presentation, Information Nights, Inductions, Premiership Assemblies etc. as required
  • Alongside the Sport Department contribute to the planning and management of resourcing, scheduling and oversight of matches, training sessions, and other touch football-related events, while effectively managing the touch football program’s budget, including funding for equipment, facilities, and travel.
  • Explore, present and deliver strategies to further promote and strengthen the sport.
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience managing and designing a Touch Football program, preferably within APS environment or Community Sport at an elite Level
  • The ability to effectively plan and implement a structured coaching curriculum/program for all coaches to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and relate to a diverse range of stakeholders including coaches, students, and parents.
  • Strong leadership, planning and administrative skills with the ability to work to specific timelines.
  • Have a Victoria Employment Working with Children Check, Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these
  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation will be highly regarded
