PLC Sydney is seeking an exceptional, highly accredited Head Volleyball Coach to lead, design, and elevate our Volleyball Program. If you are a strategic leader dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and technical mastery, we would like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Design and implement high-quality training programs, drills, and a standardised coaching 'playbook'.
- Staff Mentorship & Recruitment: Assist in recruiting, grading, and mentoring high-calibre coaching staff.
- Player Development: Oversee trials, player grading, and team allocations; establish pathways with local clubs and lead teams in external competitions (e.g. Monte Volleyball Competition, Australian Volleyball Schools Cup).
- Match-Day Supervision: Coach and oversee mid-week, Friday evening, and Saturday morning fixtures.
- Operations & Administration: Manage equipment, run school holiday camps, complete seasonal reviews, and step in as a supervisor when the Volleyball Coordinator is absent.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: High-level Volleyball coaching experience and/or coaching accreditation.
- Skills: Exceptional organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).
- Teamwork & Leadership: Ability to model teamwork and handle student, staff, or parent inquiries with respect and professionalism.
- Values: Willingness to abide by the Staff Code of Conduct and support the Christian ethos of the College.
Indicative Hours of Work:
This position requires flexibility across the school year to align with training schedules, match fixtures, and seasonal peaks. As a guide, your hours will generally look like the following:
- Term 1 (8-Week Season): Approximately 8 hours per week (consisting of two early morning training sessions from 6:30 am to 8:00 am, plus Saturday morning match coaching and supervision from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm).
- Term 2 & 3 (9-Week Season): Approximately 6.5 hours per week (consisting of two early morning training sessions from 6:30 am to 8:00 am, plus Friday evening coaching from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm).
- Term 4 (8-Week Season): Approximately 12.5 hours per week (consisting of five training sessions split between early mornings and weekday afternoons, plus Saturday morning match coaching and supervision from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm).
- Additional Seasonal Hours: Allocation for administration (program planning and coaching handbook development) and leading sports camps during the school holiday breaks.
You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
