The Coordinator, Digital & Content is an execution-focused role within the Marketing and Commercial Services team at Gymnastics Australia, reporting to the Head of Digital & Content. This role is for someone who loves being hands-on, creating content, capturing moments, managing channels and bringing the story of gymnastics to life every day across our digital platforms.
This role brings direct value to the gymnastics community by ensuring that the stories, achievements and energy of our sport are visible, engaging and accessible to everyone who loves gymnastics. Through consistent, high-quality digital content, this role helps members feel connected, celebrated and proud of the sport they are part of.
Marketing and Commercial Services Team
The Marketing and Commercial Services team is here to bring gymnastics into the future, through storytelling and raising our profile, building our capability to attract and service commercial partners.
The team will amplify the voice of our community and tell the story of our people and gymnastics heroes, engaging more people in the journey of our sport and the Australian Gymnastics Team.
The team will transform our event delivery building on what we already offer in the field of play and creating unforgettable experiences for our members and fans. The team delivers our national events and will work to secure opportunities for us to stage international events and build our capability in the lead up to Brisbane 2032.
The team will boost participation numbers in the sport by fully activating our digital and social channels and implementing national marketing campaigns in close partnership with state staff and clubs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Role model GA values within the team and across the broader gymnastics ecosystem
- Contribute proactively to the Marketing and Commercial Services team culture, sharing knowledge and championing a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
- Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach in all activities
Strategic
- Support the delivery of GA’s digital and social media strategy under the direction of the Head of Digital & Content
- Contribute to the development of the content calendar, ensuring output aligns with campaign priorities, events and commercial obligations
- Stay across emerging content trends, platform features and formats, bringing fresh ideas and recommendations to the team
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationships
- Build effective working relationships with internal GA staff, State and Territory Association marketing teams and athletes to support content creation and campaign delivery
- Liaise with event staff to ensure digital and content needs are planned for and delivered at national events
- Provide professional and timely responses to digital enquiries from community members, partners and stakeholders
- Support the broader Marketing and Commercial Services team with digital and content needs as required
Operational and Administrative
- Create and produce high-quality social media content daily across GA’s channels, including short-form video, reels, stories, graphics and written copy
- Shoot and edit video and photography content at national events, training sessions and key moments
- Design on-brand digital assets using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent, in line with GA brand guidelines
- Manage and maintain GA’s content library, ensuring assets are organised, archived and accessible
- Manage the day-to-day scheduling and publishing of content across all GA social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Actively manage GA’s online communities - responding to comments, DMs and interactions in a timely, on-brand and values-aligned manner
- Monitor online conversations and sentiment, escalating issues or opportunities to the Head of Digital & Content as appropriate
- Support the delivery of digital campaigns end-to-end, from asset creation through to scheduling, publishing and reporting
- Assist in the coordination of commercial partner digital activations, ensuring obligations are met and assets are delivered on time and on brief
- Assist in the day-to-day coordination of GA’s athlete ambassador and influencer program, including scheduling shoots, managing content briefs and coordinating approvals
- Maintain and update the Gymnastics Australia website with current news, event information, program content and digital assets
- Pull and compile social media and digital analytics reports across all platforms on a regular basis
- Maintain accurate records of content performance to support continuous improvement

Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience creating content for social media platforms, with a portfolio demonstrating strong creative output across short-form video, graphics and written copy
- Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or equivalent
- Hands-on experience managing social media channels including scheduling, publishing and community management
- Solid understanding of social media platforms and content best practices across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Strong written communication skills with an instinct for engaging, on-brand copy
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, well-presented work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to pitch in across the team
- Valid and current Working with Children Check and Police Check
Preferred
- Videography and/or photography skills, including the ability to shoot and edit short-form video content independently
- Experience in sport, not-for-profit or community-based organisations
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g. WordPress or similar)
- Exposure to digital analytics tools and an ability to interpret and report on performance data
- Experience supporting or coordinating an influencer or ambassador program
- Working knowledge of the Australian sport system
- Experience with paid social media advertising
- Passion for gymnastics or sport more broadly
