American Football Australia (AFA) is seeking a dynamic NFL Flag Coordinator to lead the delivery and expansion of NFL Flag programs across Australian schools through the Sporting Schools initiative. Working across both American Football Australia and the National Football League (NFL) Australia team, this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of flag football participation nationally.
You’ll play a key role in growing school engagement, coordinating nationwide delivery, supporting coaches and partners, and helping create positive first experiences in the sport for young Australians.
About the Role
Based on the Gold Coast, this role sits within a unique partnership between American Football Australia and the National Football League Australia. Reporting to both the AFA CEO and NFL Australia Flag Manager, you’ll lead the administration and delivery of the NFL Flag Sporting Schools program across the country.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing operations, stakeholder engagement, program delivery, and growth initiatives in a fast-moving sporting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end administration and delivery of the NFL Flag Sporting Schools program nationally
- Collaborate with NFL Australia on marketing and promotional initiatives to grow participation
- Coordinate program logistics, compliance, participation reporting, and funding requirements in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission
- Identify opportunities to improve participant experience and expand program reach
- Work closely with AFA and service providers to ensure the effective delivery of coaching, staffing, and resources to participating schools.
- Build strong relationships with schools, educators, coaches, delivery providers, and key stakeholders
About You
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual who is passionate about growing sport participation opportunities for young people.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in sports program management, community sport, or participation-based initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple organisations
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities, logistics, reporting, and program delivery simultaneously
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with confidence working both independently and within a team environment
- Experience working with schools, government-funded programs, or sporting organisations will be highly regarded
