Join the dynamic team at Surf Life Saving NSW as an Event Staging Coordinator. In this full-time role based in Belrose, NSW, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the seamless execution of Surf Life Saving NSW’s Surf Sports events and program.
With a focus on competitor and volunteer experience, you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure exceptional event delivery and future surf sport participation growth.
Some of the key duties will include
Oversee all event logistics and ensure planning has been undertaken within the agreed timeframes and budget
Coordinate, through effective stakeholder management skills, all volunteers required to deliver sport competitions
Develop and implement event plans, timelines, and contingency measures to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations
Monitor and report on event performance, identifying areas for improvement
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards
Work collaboratively the Media & Communications Team to ensure accurate and engaging event promotional material is developed and distributed within appropriate timeframes.
Coordinate the sourcing & allocation of event officials through the Officials Panel for all events
Act as Team Leader where required to ensure competitions are executed in an efficient and timely manner
What you’ll need
Minimum 3 years of experience in event management or coordination, preferably within the sport and recreation industry
Passion for delivering exceptional event experiences and a commitment to continuous improvement
Strong organisational and project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and budgets, multi-task and prioritise.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
Demonstrated experience in delivery of large events with 1000+ participants and coordination of staff and volunteers
Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in the event delivery
Ability to effectively interact with Volunteers in an event environment.
Current driver's licence and ability to undertake travel as required and flexible approach to work hours - must be willing to work weekends as required.
