Description

  • Part-Time / Casual Position
  • Monday–Friday Evenings (4pm–8pm)

Sydney Sports Academy is seeking a Sports Physiotherapist to join our high-performance coaching team specialising in return to play, speed, agility and athletic reconditioning for field and court sport athletes.

This role is focused on the end-stage rehabilitation process - bridging the gap between clinical rehabilitation and full return to competition.

Unlike a traditional clinic-based physiotherapy role, this position is heavily field-based and performance focused, working directly with athletes in live movement environments.

You will work with a hybrid client base including:

  • Return to play athletes
  • Speed & agility athletes
  • General athletic performance clients
  • Junior representative athletes
  • Competitive field and court sport athletes

Your Role Will Include

  • Return to play progressions
  • Speed & agility retraining
  • Running mechanics correction
  • Change of direction & deceleration work
  • Fitness reconditioning
  • Sport and position-specific movement drills
  • Strength & power integration
  • Performance testing & monitoring

Work Alongside Performance Team

This role will involve working directly alongside Director Brandan Jones, high-performance coach and specialist in biomechanics, speed and agility development. You will work closely with the performance team to successfully deliver desired return to play outcomes for clients.

Together, the goal is to create elite-level return to play programs that not only return athletes safely back to competition, but improve their movement quality, speed, confidence and overall athletic performance throughout the rehabilitation process.

This is a collaborative performance environment where physiotherapy and sports performance work together to achieve the best possible outcome for the athlete’s successful return to competition.

About The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a sports physiotherapist wanting to further develop within the sports performance and return to play space in a practical, athlete-focused environment.

The position combines both return to play rehabilitation and athletic performance coaching, allowing the successful candidate to work across rehabilitation, speed, agility and movement development for field and court sport athletes.

The role as a minimum centres around evening athlete sessions, with the opportunity to progressively build into larger daytime and morning workloads as your client workload expands.

About Us

Sydney Sports Academy specialises in private speed, agility and performance coaching for athletes ranging from junior representative level through to professional athletes across field and court sports.

We utilise professional performance testing VALD equipment including:

  • Electronic timing gates
  • Agility testing systems
  • Biomechanical video analysis
  • Force & movement profiling

Our goal is to return athletes back to competition faster, stronger, more confident and performing at a higher level than before injury.
