About the Role
The High Performance Head Coach - Female Pathway will play a key role in managing the development, implementation and monitoring of talent identification systems that ensure talented athletes are identified and nurtured. You will coach talented athletes and accelerate their holistic development and readiness for youth and senior representative cricket.
You will prepare players to represent South Australia in Second XI and at the Cricket Australia underage female National Championships that compete interstate. You will work closely with the Senior Women’s staff to align styles of play across the programs and develop best practice standards that drive high performance standards and behaviors through our players and staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and monitor talent identification systems that ensure talented female cricketers are identified, supported and nurtured with wholistic development in mind.
- Take on various coaching roles across the SACA Female Pathways team - Winter squads, Second XI, U19s, U16s, inclusive of selecting of teams.
- Provide specialised coaching across programs within the SACA female programs on an as-needed basis.
- Drive high performance habits and standards.
- Develop and deliver education in line with wholistic development needs of the groups
- Oversee and manage the conduct of youth squad members including compliance with the Australian Cricket codes and policies and uphold SACA values.
- Liaise with staff to provide player analysis packs
- Regular communication with SACA Premier Club Coaches to identify emerging talent and foster relationships to harness a player’s strengths.
- Communicate updates to relevant SACA Premier Coaches about any goals/next steps throughout the different phases of the cricket season about their athletes.
- Working with players to design and implement personal training programs, including Individual Player Plan (IPP’s), Player Performance Reviews (post matches) that support the development.
- Demonstrate and document player learning
- Collaborate with SSSM staff to manage bowling loads of pace bowlers throughout the season, to limit soft tissue injuries and map out key competition and training load requirements.
- Attend various cricket competitions to perform Talent Identification
- Communicate with contract staff, parents & players about training plans and scheduling in a timely manner.
- Collaborate within key stakeholders to conduct periodic reviews of the pathway program to close the gap from pathway to senior cricket.
- Continually reinforce and develop recognition of the Spirit of Cricket and the responsibility of players to promote the game and show it in a positive light by creating team and squad values.
Would also be great if you have…
- Completion of High Performance (Level 3) Coach - Cricket Australia (or willingness to obtain)
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree such as Business or Sports Management
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid Qualification
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check
- Knowledge of Cricket Australia's Youth Pace Bowling Load recommendations
- Knowledge of Female International, State and Premier Cricket competitions
- Awareness of Cricket Australia's Child Safeguarding policies
- SACA Women’s and Girl’s Pathway aligned with the Cricket Australia’s 2024-2034 Women and Girls Action Plan
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to positively influence and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong ability to design and adjust learning & training programs to ensure continual player development for high performance environments.
- Effective people, time management & communication skills.
- Sound ability in the use of PC based software applications.
- A minimum of five years of experience/involvement working in High Performance Cricket and/or Women’s Cricket.
