UWA Sport is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Coach to lead Team UWA Maali Tennis through the 2026 UniSport University Tennis League, UniNationals, and Western Series Tennis event. Exact competition dates for 2026 are:
Western Series – Tennis Event: Wednesday 6 May
UTL: August – September
UniNationals: 26 September – 2 October
This is a remunerated leadership role with travel opportunities, professional development, and the chance to shape one of UWA’s flagship high-performance student teams.
About the Role
The Head Coach will manage and coach an allocated squad in the lead-up to and during the University Tennis League, UniNationals, and Western Series Tennis event. You will be the primary point of contact for athletes, oversee training and performance planning, and travel with the team for away fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Performance
Develop and implement a structured training and performance plan for the season.
Lead all on-court training sessions and match-day coaching.
Athlete Development
Create Individual Athlete Performance Plans and conduct regular player reviews.
Track team progress using performance metrics.
Program & Culture
Build a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team environment.
Support athlete retention and recruitment for future campaigns.
Review & Feedback
Deliver consistent match and player review processes to drive improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience coaching tennis.
SIA Anti-Doping Fundamentals Certificate (or ability to obtain).
First Aid and CPR certification.
National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
