The Role
You’ll lead the physiotherapy function within our fully integrated basketball operations team.
From injury assessment through to return-to-play, you’ll set the clinical standard. You’ll guide decision-making that impacts performance, availability and long-term athlete wellbeing - and you’ll mentor the team around you to raise the bar across the department.
This is a hands-on leadership role in an elite sport environment.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Delivering evidence-based physiotherapy services across injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery
- Leading return-to-play decisions with confidence, clarity and sound medical ethics
- Monitoring player workloads and leveraging AMS and AI tools to support injury prevention and performance optimisation
- Developing and implementing proactive injury prevention strategies
- Providing physiotherapy support across training, games and travel
- Maintaining precise, compliant and up-to-date medical records
- Educating players on injury prevention, recovery and long-term physical health
- Leading, mentoring and developing physiotherapy staff within the high-performance programme
- Game days, extended hours and travel are part of the rhythm of this role.
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who brings clinical excellence, leadership maturity and genuine care for athlete wellbeing.
You’re the right fit if you:
- Hold an APA Sports Physiotherapy title (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) and full AHPRA registration
- Have expert clinical reasoning and hands-on treatment skills developed in high-performance environments
- Apply strong medical ethics within elite sport contexts
- Communicate clearly and credibly with players, coaches and key stakeholders
- Are proficient with athlete management systems and rehabilitation technologies
- Are motivated to integrate emerging technologies and AI into clinical workflows
- Have experience leading or mentoring allied health staff
- Hold current First Aid and CPR certification
- Are legally entitled to work in Australia and have the flexibility elite sport demands
- Strength and Conditioning qualifications or experience working within an integrated performance team will be highly regarded.
