About the role:

Box Hill Hawks are seeking an experienced and passionate VFLW Doctor to join our high-performance football program. This role plays a critical part in delivering comprehensive medical care and leadership to our VFLW athletes, supporting their health, wellbeing and ability to perform at their best.

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to VFLW players across training, match day and rehabilitation environments
  • Develop and deliver strategies that ensure athletes remain healthy and best-prepared to perform
  • Provide support and advice to the coaching, high performance and medical teams on athlete health, physical programs, and all relevant medical/health related matters
  • Provide advice to medical staff in the context of medical strategy and purpose
  • Adhere to all medical protocols and testing requirements
  • Attend matches, trainings and key football activities as required

The successful candidate:

The successful candidate will be decisive and methodical, backed by relevant tertiary study. You have significant clinical experience. You are collaborative and able to influence different stakeholder groups with your medical expertise.

You will have relevant qualifications that include:

  • Registered medical practitioner with relevant professional accreditation
  • Experience working in elite or sub-elite sport, preferably within football
  • Strong understanding of sports medicine, injury management and performance environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary high-performance team
  • Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and match days

This role will be based at Box Hill City Oval, with sessions held at Kennedy Community Centre (Dingley), or another suitable environment.
