The Court Supervisor is the frontline presence of basketball act during competitions and events. this role is responsible for delivering a safe, welcoming and well-run competition environment, acting as the first point of contact for members, referees, officials and visitors attending the venue.
The role ensures facilities are prepared, compliant, clean and operating safely, while responding confidently to customer enquiries, operational issues and incidents during shifts. Court Supervisors play a critical role in maintaining the professional reputation and smooth day-to-day operation of basketball act venues.
Venue Operations and Member Services
Act as the first point of contact for all competition, facility and general enquiries during shifts
Provide consistent, friendly and professional customer service to members, referees, officials and visitors
Support a 7-day operating environment, including evenings and weekends, as rostered
Ensure all court setups, equipment and operational requirements are completed on time prior to competitions
Ensure facilities are used strictly in accordance with bookings, safety requirements and operational guidelines
Facility presentation, safety and compliance
Conduct regular checks of courts, amenities and equipment for cleanliness, safety and functionality
Identify, report and escalate maintenance issues, hazards or potential breakdowns promptly
Maintain a clean, presentable and safe environment throughout each shift
Ensure health, safety and security standards are upheld at all times
Incident response and decision making
Respond promptly and calmly to incidents, injuries, accidents or safety concerns
Initiate appropriate action in emergencies in line with policies and procedures
Operate independently and show sound judgement when supervising the venue
Escalate complex or serious matters to the competitions team or senior staff as required
Administration and reporting
Open and close basketball act facilities when rostered
Complete required incident reports, checklists and handover notes accurately and on time
Actively participate in the implementation of basketball act policies, guidelines and procedures
Teamwork and professionalism
Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing operations and competitions team
Build positive working relationships with referees, competition staff and external stakeholders
Represent Basketball ACT professionally at all times while on duty

Ability to work well individually and as part of a team with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
Computing skills including the ability to effectively utilise computer programming, spreadsheets and word processing.
Basic ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
