Seeking Multiple Casual Sports Coaches - Soccer
As our sports program continues to grow, Ivanhoe Grammar School is seeking multiple Sports Coaches – Soccer to support our AGSV teams across all our campuses. Sport plays an important role in life at Ivanhoe. It builds confidence, teamwork and character, while creating opportunities for students to challenge themselves and grow.
Working alongside members of academic staff, Sports Coaches support training sessions and match-day activities, helping students develop their skills while contributing to a positive, inclusive and well-organised sporting environment. Training sessions typically take place after school (3.00pm – 5.30pm), with match commitments on Saturdays during the season. We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in coaching or playing soccer, who are enthusiastic about contributing to a vibrant school sporting program and supporting young people through sport.
What you will do
As a key member of the Sports team, you will:
- Provide sports coaching assistance to sporting teams and squads under the supervision of a teacher, including providing direction, instruction and training to students.
- Assist with equipment and the preparation for, and conducting of, training sessions and sporting events.
- Assist in the development of relevant sporting skills, tactics and techniques.
- Assist in monitoring and enhancing sporting performance through coaching, encouragement and constructive feedback to teams and individual students.
Who you are
You are enthusiastic, reliable and supportive, with a genuine interest in sport and working with young people of character. You bring professionalism, initiative and a positive attitude to your role.
You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills:
- An interest or background in sport, coaching or physical activity, ideally with experience in soccer.
- Experience assisting with coaching, training sessions or sporting programs (desirable but not essential).
- A Football Australia Foundation of Football Certificate or other relevant coaching qualification (desirable).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
- The ability to demonstrate appropriate behaviours and professionalism when working with children.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
