NETBALL NSW OVERVIEW

As the peak state sporting body for netball in New South Wales, Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of the sport, and is affiliated with Netball Australia.

Netball NSW provides a comprehensive framework supporting approximately 119,000 registered members and more than 150,000 participants across all levels of the game. The sport’s continued growth is driven by the wide range of programs, facilities and services offered, from grassroots participation to professional pathways.

Netball NSW has a strong history of elite performance, with over 300 athletes representing the state since 1997, including through the Suncorp Super Netball competition featuring the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.

Netball NSW Social Media and Video Content Producer

Do you live for capturing moments, telling powerful stories and creating scroll-stopping content?

Are you just as comfortable filming at a community gala day as you are behind the scenes with elite athletes?

Netball NSW is on the hunt for a creative unicorn, someone who loves social media and video production - to help bring our amazing game to life across our channels

About this role

Reporting to the GM Audience & Growth, this role will oversee and manage Netball NSW’s social media platforms, creating engaging, inclusive and inspiring content that celebrates everything from grassroots netball and community programs to our representative and pathway competitions - right through to our fabulous elite clubs and athletes at Swifts and GIANTS.

At the heart of this role is showing the digi world what we all love, see and feel about netball - the energy, the friendships, the competitiveness, the pride and the community spirit. You’ll help grow the sport’s appeal beyond traditional netball audiences by creating content that welcomes new fans in, while also deepening engagement with clubs, volunteers and local communities who are the heartbeat of the game.

A key part of the role is creating fan-first storytelling and player connection strategies to life that build excitement and deepen engagement across both ends of the game.

If you love sport, thrive in fast-paced environments and believe the best stories are found courtside… this one’s for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing Netball NSW’s social channels day-to-day - producing and posting engaging content, responding to relevant comments and inquiries in a professional and timely manner, and owning the social content calendar!
  • Capturing and producing high quality video content from community events to behind-the-scenes moments
  • Turning real stories into compelling short-form content native to the platform – reels on Instagram,
  • Helping deliver fan and player connection initiatives that link community netball with the elite game
  • Working closely with netball marketing and club media teams to bring campaigns to life
  • Keeping your finger on the pulse of social trends and new formats

About You

  • A natural storyteller with a passion for social media and video
  • Confident filming, editing and creating content on the go
  • Energetic, collaborative and happy to jump courtside with a camera
  • Loves sport and/or entertainment (netball knowledge is a big plus but not crucial!)
  • Gets excited about inclusion, community impact and inspiring the next generation

Experience & Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. marketing, communications, media, or related field or equivalent professional experience demonstrating these competencies)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional social media management experience, ideally within sports, entertainment, or community-focused organisations
  • High level of creativity
  • Experience in creating compelling short-form video content fit for channel
  • Working with children check
  • Current drivers license

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt tone across audiences
  • Creative thinking and strong visual sensibility; comfort with innovation and experimentation within brand guidelines
  • Excellent time management, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Strong collaborative mindset; ability to work effectively across teams with different priorities and perspectives
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build authentic relationships with athletes, staff, and supporters

Why Apply

You’ll be right in the middle of the action from community courts to behind the scenes with elite players capturing moments that make netball special and shaping how the sport is seen across NSW and broader digi world!
