The Community Participation & Engagement Coordinator (South East) will play a key role in the recruitment and retention of entry level participants and lead the engagement of the local community with Hockey One teams.
The role is community and participant focused with delivery of HV core programs and activations central to the success of the role and organisation.
Focused on the South East of Melbourne and Victoria the role requires knowledge of and a willingness to work with the communities through this corridor.
Due to the nature of activities this role supports, work outside of core business hours will be required but is supported by HV’s flexible work policy.
Other duties may be required to be undertaken from time to time. This position may involve work related travel to visit stakeholders or including working from locations other than the Hockey Victoria office.

Coordination and on ground delivery of:
- School Roadshow program
- Sporting Schools Clinics
- School Gala / Carnival Days
Affiliate Support
- Hookin2Hockey Program Visits and Coordinator Support
- Under 8/10 Venue based Competition Visits
- Participation Officer Training
- Hookin2Hockey Coordinator Training
Establishing Clubs and Active Communities
- Assist HV Executive with development of new clubs in defined growth areas
- Assist HV Executive with establishing and linking community partners back into our Hockey One team.
- Working with local council and community groups to activate the local community’s interest and engagement in hockey
Hockey One Activations & Promotions
Coordination and delivery of:
- Home Match Day activations
- Community Events i.e. Council and Cultural Festivals
- Club Activations i.e. Player Visits
- Promotional Clinics and School Holiday Programs
Inclusive Hockey Program
Coordinating, supporting and/or running:
- Inclusive Hockey Program in conjunction with SCOPE
- Temple and language school visits and hockey program activations
- Cultural festivals & celebrations, specific hockey programs, competitions, and tournaments. In line with community partners and/or councils.
POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge & understanding of the local communities in South East Melbourne
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in the field of Sports Administration
- Current Working with Children Check
- An understanding of the current sport landscape
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of all age, gender and background
- Knowledge of the sport of hockey is desirable
- Knowledge of junior participation programs and pathways
