Description

The role part time role of Events Coordinator will support the Events Manager in delivery of the suite of on-field and off-field events that Hockey Victoria offer. They will be responsible for ensuring that high attention to detail is maintained across all Events and will be required to be in attendance to support the delivery of all Events.

The Events Coordinator will also play a key role in preparation for and delivery of home Hockey One match days and other Events related to HC Melbourne and Melbourne Cobras. Furthermore, the role will be responsible for supporting new cultural events which emerge through the delivery of the Melbourne Cobras community engagement. 

Hockey Victoria

  • Support the Events Manager in delivery of Hockey Victoria’s annual Events, including Stand Out Cup, Women & Girls Breakfast, Junior Country Championships, Senior Country Championships Junior State Championships, Men’s Health Lunch, Chairperson’s Function, and Hockey Victoria Awards Night.
  • Attend all Hockey Victoria events and support the Event Manager in delivering them
  • Review, develop and update event regulations, guides and processes as required for each respective on-field Event.
  • Assist the Events manager with the review and collection of feedback on all Events
  • Coordinate the process to recruit officials and tournament staff for all Hockey Events
  • Support the Events Manager with recruitment and coordination of Zone Coordinators for JSC Zones (where there are vacancies)
  • Provide administrative support for all Hockey Victoria Events, including but not limited setting up Events in Rev Sport, distribution of information to officials and participants, support uniform ordering and equipment purchasing for JSC and any other duties allocated.

Hockey One

  • As allocated by the General Manager Commercial Operations & HC Melbourne, fulfill the role Match Day Director for one of the Hockey One teams that HV manage. This includes being the point of contact for the Hockey One League and all visiting teams on all matters relating to match days for the allocated Hockey One team (HC Melbourne or Melbourne Cobras).
  • Match manage and support event delivery elements of the Hockey One team (HC Melbourne or Melbourne Cobras) that is allocated by GM Commercial Operations & HC Melbourne. In addition, support the Events Manager with the delivery of the match days for the other Hockey One team as necessary. 
  • Coordinate the recruitment and rostering of ball patrol, volunteers and any other personnel necessary for the delivery of Hockey One home match days
  • Support venue set-up for all Hockey One match days, including all signage, equipment and activations
  • Provide support to ensure all Team and League sponsor match day activations are executed for the Hockey One Match Days
  • Support the delivery of the Season Lauch Events for Melbourne Cobras and Hockey Club Melbourne.  
  • Coordinate and deliver community events which support the engagement of the hockey and wider community with our H1 Teams. 

This role is part time (0.6 FTE) contract through until 31st December, 2026. It is based at State Netball Hockey Centre in Parkville, but travel will be required to venues that Hockey Victoria deliver events. The successful candidate will need to be available to attend Hockey Victoria's Events and Hockey One Matches that they are invoveld in delivering.
