The Frankston Blues basketball club is the representative basketball program of Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA). The FDBA is the largest sporting association on the Mornington Peninsula and is the regional hub for basketball with over 15,000 participants competing in various basketball programs annually.
Frankston Blues are engaged in a high-performance capacity with two senior teams entered into the NBL1 South League, and two senior teams entered into the Big V Youth League (YL).
Position
Gameday Commissioner & Supervisor - 10 hours per home game week (seasonal)
Overview
The Gameday Commissioner & Supervisor works as part of the FDBA team and is responsible for the delivery of the Frankston Blues NBL1 gameday operations. The Gameday Commissioner & Supervisor reports to the FDBA Programs Lead.
Position Overview and Key Tasks:
Check court surfaces are clean and suitable for playing.
Confirm all League Signage and promotional material is in the correct locations and visible to the cameras.
Setup of Venue & Packdown of Venue including all gameday equipment
Provide access to the Referee room and ensure they have all that they require throughout the game.
Confirm that the Commentary and Video teams are in the venue, and all correctly set up.
Be the point of contact for the Kayo crews should the home game be designated as a “Game of the Week”.
Manage on-court and off-court issues impartially, resolving conflicts and upholding the Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct
Be the first point of contact for first aid incidents and safety concerns and monitor stadium supplies.
Ensure the games start on time and that all breaks (e.g. Quarter Time, Half Time) are adhered to.
Coordinate with officials and team staff to ensure compliance with uniform, scoresheet, and game administration requirements as required by NBL1 League Management
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for referees, technical officials, broadcast partners, and league stakeholders.
Key Selection Criteria
Sport & recreation experience
Ability to work within a team environment
Strong IT Skills
Troubleshooting technical issues relating to livestream video, scoreboards, A/V and gameday equipment
Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload in match preparation and delivery
Pre-Requisites
Working With Children’s Check or equivalent licence
Appointment Terms
Seasonal casual position during the NBL1 & Youth League season (March - September)
10 hours per home game week across NBL1 and Youth League
Evening and weekend work is required
Standard game hours** (subject to NBL1/YL fixture):
Saturday: 4.30pm – 11.00pm approx.
Sunday: 10.30am – 5.00pm approx.
Homes games are played at Jubilee Park Stadium, VIC Frankston 3199.
**Possible weeknight games subject to fixture
Remuneration
$35.00 per hour honorarium based off the Frankston Blues home game schedule
