We are seeking a permanent, part-time Head Touch Football Coach (0.66FTE) to work on average 25 hours per week in a term-time only role. 

The Head Touch Football Coach will have the responsibility for developing an innovative and engaging Touch Football program that includes Junior School Touch Football over the winter season and Senior Touch Football over the Summer Season. As the Head Coach of Touch Football you will lead development of staff and students to drive Ascham Touch Football to the next level.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and drive an overarching vision for Touch Football at Ascham, cultivating an engaging journey for our students that aligns with the school’s vision and values.
  • Provide leadership for the agreed vision that caters for a beginner through to representative players across both the Junior and Senior School.
  • Provide effective leadership to student-athletes to encourage holistic development through the introduction of effective programs to support both successful academic development and sporting excellence.
  • Liaise effectively with the Head of Sport, Sports administration team and various stakeholders about the Touch Football program including strategic priorities, program administration, scheduling and student wellbeing. Recruit, lead and mentor a coaching team.
  • Take a proactive approach to monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards within the program, including injury prevention and incident management.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Head of Sport.

What You Will Bring

  • A Talent Level Coaching Qualification in Touch Football (or willingness to obtain this qualification).
  • Demonstrated Touch Football coaching experience within a youth sports context with a strong background across the 6-18 years age bracket. An ability to be an effective team member, including initiative, passion, willingness to collaborate and people management skills to drive holistic sports involvement.
  • Proven experience in coaching and/or leading other coaches in their discipline
  • Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management princinciples.
  • A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
