The Para Program Coach is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of Judo Australia’s Para Program for Vision Impaired athletes, in collaboration with the Judo Australia (JA) General Manager of Performance and Pathways.
The role focuses on organising and delivering training and competition opportunities for the Para Team, and leading technical development for both athletes and club coaches across each state and territory where relevant.
Key responsibilities will span management of the Para Program, talent identification and coaching, directing performance strategy, reporting to stakeholders, and communicating the journey and dedication of our Para Judo athletes.
This fixed-term contract (until 30 June, 2028) is a 0.6 FTE role that can be based anywhere in Australia, with flexible hours that recognise the requirement for regular travel to clubs, camps and competitions Australia wide and internationally.
Applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident, hold a valid passport, and have secured a professional Working With Children Check. You will already possess, and if necessary will be required to update, full Coaching Accreditation under Judo Australia's Coaching Accreditation Framework (or international equivalent).
A familiarity with the WinWell 2032+ Strategy, and the international Paralympic movement as governed by IBSA for vision-impaired Judo and championed by Paralympics Australia would be helpful. An understanding of the particular challenges experienced by vision-impaired athletes would offer a distinct advantage.
