Description

Coaching at Brisbane Girls Grammar School

The Sport Program at Brisbane Girls Grammar School offers 18 competitive and several non-competitive sporting activities. The School is a founding member of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) competition. BGGS also participates in a range of Brisbane club association fixtures and offers a comprehensive Interhouse Program.

Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking Hockey Coaches to contribute to the School’s exceptional Sport Program. The coach’s role is to deliver coaching sessions that provide a safe environment for athletes and to develop skills, tactical awareness, teamwork and enjoyment of the sport.

Due to the large size of the program, we are seeking coaches with varying experience and qualifications.

Experienced coaches may be paid on a casual basis (minimum two-hour shifts). Coaching commitments are one or two training sessions on weekdays, and completion games are held on Saturdays. Pay rates vary according to experience, qualifications and coaching responsibilities.

Less experienced coaches may receive an honorarium in recognition of their voluntary contribution to the School and the development and support of students.

Trainings

Tennis teams will commence training in Term 2, 2026. Teams will train once a week at the BGGS Victoria Park courts either, from 6.45am-8.00am, or 3.30pm-5.00pm weekdays.

The QGSSSA 2026 Tennis season commences on Saturday, July 18, 2026. QGSSSA Tennis fixtures are played on every Saturday morning, with the season ending on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Fixtures will be played on a home and away rotation.
