The Sport Program at Brisbane Girls Grammar School offers a variety of competitive and non-competitive sporting activities.
Senior School (Years 7 to 12)
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is a proud founding member of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA), competing across a broad range of sports. Beyond QGSSSA, BGGS students also participate in a variety of sporting competitions within Brisbane associations.
Junior School (Years 5 to 6)
The Junior School of Brisbane Girls Grammar is a founding member of the Junior Girls Sport Alliance, competing in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming. In addition to this, Junior School students also participate in a variety of sporting competitions within Brisbane associations.
Coaching at Brisbane Girls Grammar School
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking Netball Coaches to contribute to the Netball program in both the QGSSSA competition and the Downey Park Netball Association.
QGSSSA Netball (Years 7 to 12): Training 3.30pm-5.30pm on Tuesday afternoons at Downey Park in Terms 2 and 3. QGSSSA fixtures are played on Saturday mornings (Home and Away) in Term 3.
Downey Park Netball (Years 5 to 8): Training 3.30pm-5.30pm on Monday afternoons at Downey Park in Terms 1, 2 and 3, with fixtures played Saturday mornings in Terms 2 and 3.
The Coach’s role is to deliver coaching sessions that provide a safe environment for athletes and to develop skills, tactical awareness, teamwork and enjoyment of the sport.
We are seeking coaches with varying experience and qualifications. Pay rates vary according to experience, qualifications and coaching responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience coaching girls from beginner to elite level
- Coaching and/or refereeing accreditation is desirable
- Professional presentation and manner
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
