Volleyball South Australia (VSA) is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Events and Programs Coordinator to help grow and energise volleyball participation across South Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Marketing and Events Manager, the Events and Programs Coordinator coordinates participation and competition programs designed to grow and retain membership across indoor and beach volleyball disciplines. This includes delivering beach volleyball and inclusive programs such as the South Australian Beach Volleyball Series (SABVS), Sitting Volley, school and social competitions, while identifying and implementing new initiatives to enhance member engagement and retention.

The role also oversees the operational requirements of Glenelg Beach and Mawson Lakes City Beach, supporting high-quality program and event delivery in these key venues.

About Volleyball South Australia

Volleyball SA is the peak body for volleyball in South Australia and the governing organisation for one of the world’s most popular sports. As a not-for-profit organisation, VSA reinvests all program revenue back into the sport, supporting participation from junior pathways and social play through to high-performance competition. VSA operates in alignment with Volleyball Australia’s policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The Events and Programs Coordinator will:

  • Deliver, coordinate and grow participation programs and competitions across indoor and beach volleyball
  • Plan, organise and promote an annual calendar of beach volleyball competitions and programs
  • Support affiliate-led competitions and participation initiatives
  • Oversee venue operations at Glenelg Beach and Mawson Lakes City Beach, including logistics, stock and contract administration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, clubs, affiliates, councils, sponsors and members
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on participation growth, engagement and retention
  • Support compliance, risk management, and WHS requirements
  • Assist with budget management and financial administration
  • Support a culture of safety, inclusion, professionalism and positive member experience

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of schools, community sport and volunteer-led environments
  • Sound organisational, project management and administrative skills
  • Confidence working with budgets, systems and digital tools (MS Office, Canva, online forms)
  • An understanding of relevant legislation including WHS, Working with Children and inclusion

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel and undertake on-site event delivery
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Registered member of Volleyball South Australia (playing or non-playing)
