The Role
The Head Coach - Netball is responsible for the leadership, development and oversight of coaches and student-athletes within the netball programs. Working closely with the Sport Coordinator and Head and Assistant Head of Sport, this role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality coaching, fostering athlete development pathways and supporting participation at all levels.
This is a part-time, fixed-term, salaried position, with hours worked to be agreed and aligned with the school sporting calendar, including QGSSSA and associated competitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach the Open Team
- Provide leadership and mentoring to all Netball coaches
- Develop and oversee a clear, periodised coaching plan for the season
- Support long-term athlete development in consultation with the Sports Performance Centre Manager
- Assist with game-day preparation, strategy and feedback
- Contribute to selection trials, team selections and end-of-season awards
Experience and Requirements
- Sports Management and/or coaching qualifications and experience required
- Relevant experience in administration of sporting programs
- Experience in an education setting in particular an all-girls’ school setting (highly desirable)
- Attend an agreed to number of training sessions per week, and all fixtures or competitions
- Have a Paid Blue Card (Working with Children) or ability to obtain.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
