We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach for our First XV, combined with a full-time teaching role in any secondary subject area.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant learning community and play a key role in shaping the athletic and character development of high-performance student athletes. Please note that as this is a teaching role, only applicants who hold accreditation with NESA to teach in NSW will be considered for this position.
Key responsibilities of this blended role include:
- Teach in your qualified secondary subject area, delivering high-quality learning experiences aligned with College values and curriculum expectations.
- Lead, coach, and develop the College’s First XV Rugby program, ensuring high standards of performance, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Oversee training programs, match preparation, player development plans, and season strategy in conjunction with the Director of Rugby
- Contribute to the wider Rugby Program, supporting pathways and mentoring junior coaches where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students and families to uphold a culture of excellence both in the classroom and on the field.
- Contributing to the broader life of the College and co-curricular activities
About You
You will be an experienced educator who models professional excellence. You have:
- Accreditation and experience suitable for NESA registration to teach in NSW secondary schools.
- Demonstrated strong rugby coaching experience, ideally at First XV, representative, or elite schoolboy level preferred.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, holistic development, and the Catholic ethos of the College.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
- Strong classroom management, communication and relationship-building skills with adolescent boys.
- A commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and to the Augustinian values of Truth, Love and Community.?
