About the Centre

Coburg Leisure Centre, Brunswick Baths, Oak Park Sports & Aquatic Centre and Fawkner Leisure Centre are year round facilities which offers a well equipped gym, group fitness classes, indoor pools, spa, sauna, steam room, a café, and a child care facility at Coburg Leisure Centre. As busy community facilities, we cater for a wide range of users in the Merri-bek community.

About the Role

As an Infant and Preschool Swim Teacher at Merri-Bek sites, you will design and implement lesson plans that foster swimming skills in children from infancy through school age. You will combine stroke development with water safety to boost your students' confidence and abilities in the water. Your role will include:

• Structure and design of lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
• Recommending students for level progression as appropriate
• Teaching and modeling effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $36.58 + super & Y Benefits.

About You

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher!

• Demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm to teach children to swim
• Provide excellent customer service to parents and students alike
• Be motivated and committed to perform to a high standard

Essential Qualifications

• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
• Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics

Other Desired Qualifications

• Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
• Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
• Teacher of Adults
