Guildford Grammar School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Hockey Coach’s to be involved with our Senior and Junior boys and girls teams for the 2026 Winter Season.

The ideal candidates will possess strong qualifications and experience in Hockey, with a commitment to developing our players both on and off the field.

If you are passionate about Hockey and dedicated to developing young athletes, we would love to hear from you! Please submit a short cover letter outlining your experience both playing and coaching, along with a current resume that includes details of three current referees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor teams during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement training plans tailored to the skill levels and further development of the students.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive culture leaving behind a legacy in the Guildford Grammar Hockey program.
  • Work closely with the Head of Hockey to support talented players in achieving both team and individual success.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and fixtures.

Training Schedule:

  • Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm (Senior Teams - girls and boys)
  • Monday and Wednesday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm (Junior Teams - boys)
  • Wednesday 3.30pm - 5.30pm & Friday 12pm - 3.30pm (Junior Teams - girls)

Fixture Schedule:

  • Saturday mornings (Senior Teams - Boys)
  • Friday afternoons 12pm - 4pm (Junior Teams - boys)
  • Friday, Saturday or Sunday games (Girls teams)

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Hockey and proven coaching techniques.
  • Coaching accreditation preferred
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Police Check (dated within the last 6 months).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Previous coaching experience.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues within the Sports Department and across the School.

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
