About Basketball ACT
Basketball ACT is the governing body for basketball in the Australian Capital Territory, Recognised by Basketball Australia and the ACT Government.
We support a thriving basketball community of 12,000+ participants, 850+ teams, referees, officials, volunteers and pathways athletes - from grassroots to representative competition.
Based at the Belconnen Basketball Stadium, we work closely with clubs, schools, partners and the wider community to grow participation, connection and opportunity through basketball.
This role sits right at the centre of how that story is told.
About the Role
As Digital Coordinator, you support the delivery of Basketball ACT’s digital presence across web, social media, email and campaign channels.you capture what’s happening, shape it into engaging content, and make sure our digital
platforms are current, responsive and aligned. some days that’s game-night coverage. other days it’s website updates, analytics, newsletters or stakeholder comms.
You don’t need to come from sport - but you do need strong judgement, good instincts, and the ability to work across fast-moving priorities without dropping quality. You’ll report to the Communications Manager and work closely with teams across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Content & channels
- capture and schedule content from events, competitions and programs
- manage day-to-day social media activity, comments and messages
- coordinate email campaigns and digital updates
- support website updates, accessibility and content accuracy
Digital performance & optimisation
- track and analyse performance using google analytics, meta tools or similar
- assist with seo and content optimisation
- maintain digital asset libraries and brand consistency
Collaboration & engagement
- work with internal teams to align messaging and campaigns
- build positive relationships with clubs, sponsors and stakeholders
- contribute to a collaborative, high-performing organisational culture
Governance & safety
- comply with whs, integrity and basketball act policies
- support safe, respectful digital engagement across all platforms
About You
You’re someone who:
- has experience managing social media, web or digital platforms
- is confident with cms tools (e.g. wordpress) and analytics platforms
- can prioritise, meet deadlines and stay calm when things move quickly
- communicates clearly and professionally with diverse audiences
- enjoys being part of a community-facing organisation
- aligns with basketball act’s identity anchors: inclusion, improvement, ambition and acting for the good of the game
Formal marketing or digital qualifications are welcomed - equivalent practical experience is just as valuable.
