Northern Territory Cricket Ltd is the peak sporting body for cricket in the Territory. As custodians of the sport, we work closely with Cricket Australia, the seven other State & Territory Associations and our members to serve and grow the game. Our purpose is to unite and inspire our community through cricket, and our vision is to create a thriving sport for all.
The First Nations Programs Manager is a brand-new role that has been created to provide strategic, operational and cultural leadership across all aspects of First Nations cricket in the Northern Territory.
The role exists to strengthen organisational capability, grow participation, build partnerships, and lead First Nations cricket in the Northern Territory into a new area of inclusion, accessibility and advancement.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are integral to the Australian cricket story - past, present and future - and Northern Territory Cricket have an important role to play nationally in ensuring cricket truly is a sport for all Australians.
Reporting to the Head of Cricket, the First Nations Program Manager will provide ‘hands on’ leadership and drive a number of initiatives and deliverables aligned to Cricket Australia’s third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), with a focus on Participation, Representation and Engagement.
The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in sport, possess strong First Nations cultural awareness and understanding, and display excellent interpersonal skills essential to building great relationships with community organisations and leaders.
