 About the Brisbane Bullets:

The Brisbane Bullets are a professional basketball club competing in the National Basketball League (NBL). Based in the heart of Brisbane, the Bullets are Brisbane’s oldest professional sporting Club’s with a rich history of success - dating back to 1979.

The Brisbane Bullets aim to inspire and nurture the future generations of basketball fanatics, by embracing the Queensland basketball community, and becoming the leading club for the state. The National Basketball League (NBL) is regarded as one of the premier basketball organisations in the world and is home to some of the world’s best athletes and is in an exception growth phase worldwide.

Primary Objective

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a hands-on, all-rounder role responsible for executing marketing, media, and communications activity across the Brisbane Bullets. Reporting to the Marketing & Media Manager, this role provides day-to-day support through copywriting, coordination of media opportunities, campaign delivery, basic content creation, and game day execution to ensure timely, accurate, and on-brand outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications Execution

  • Support the development and delivery of marketing campaigns across ticketing, membership, game day, community programs, and events
  • Execute campaign activity across digital channels including EDMs, website, CRM, and social media
  • Write and adapt copy for a wide range of uses including:
    • EDMs and website content
    • Social media captions
    • Campaign messaging and CTAs
    • Internal and external communications
  • Ensure all marketing outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned to brand tone and messaging
  • Coordinate timelines, approvals, and asset delivery across internal teams and external suppliers

Media and PR Support

  • Support the coordination of media opportunities under direction from the Marketing & Media Manager
  • Assist with preparation of media releases, statements, briefing notes, and talking points
  • Coordinate logistics for media engagements including interview scheduling, approvals, and follow-ups
  • Support post-training interviews, press conferences, and broadcast requirements
  • Support Media Day delivery
  • Maintain media lists, coverage tracking, and assist with weekly media reporting

Digital and Content Support

  • Support day-to-day publishing across digital platforms as directed
  • Create basic content using a mobile phone (photos, short videos, behind-the-scenes content) to support campaigns and game day coverage
  • Assist with website updates, news articles, and basic CMS publishing
  • Support the briefing and coordination of designers, videographers, and photographers

Game Day and Event Support

  • Support marketing, media, and communications delivery on game day
  • Assist with coordination of media and broadcast teams
  • Support post-game content delivery including social updates and media assets
  • Assist with delivery of in-game marketing assets and messaging
  • Support club events including themed rounds, launches, community activations, and partner events

Administration, Reporting & Coordination

  • Assist with campaign tracking, reporting, and performance summaries
  • Maintain schedules, asset trackers, and project documentation
  • Support CRM activity including data uploads, EDM scheduling, and basic reporting
  • Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & Media function as required

Knowledge &/or Skills

  • Experience managing and executing content across Social Media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X
  • Experience in delivering EDMs, knowledge of website CMS and digital production platforms. Experience using Braze, Monday.com, Meta, Instgram, X and LinkedIn desirable
  • High quality production and editing skills including social media production skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to write professional content for external use
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Proven skills using the MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of a variety of microphones and audio recording
  • Commitment to high work standards, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Creative thinker with a strategic approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Paid digital campaigns (META Ads and Google Ads) experience is great, not essential
  • Understanding/ interest in basketball

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • 1-2+ years experience in a similar role with degree qualifications in relevant field (Marketing, Public Relations, Communications)
  • Is a strong executor and problem-solver
  • Enjoys variety and being across “a bit of everything”
  • Is comfortable taking direction and turning strategy into action
  • Can handle fast turnarounds and live environments
  • Wants exposure to media, marketing, and sport at a professional level 
  • Must be able to work home games (nights and weekends), and some out of hours work is required on occasions
  • Must be able to assist in the set up and pack down of game days
