Description

Swimland Swim Club (SSC)

Established in 2007, Swimland Swim Club (SSC) is a family-focused competitive swimming club with training sites across Melbourne’s west and south. We bring together Age Group and Masters swimmers in an inclusive environment that supports all squad levels—from developing competitive skills to performing at the highest level.

SSC offers a safe, professional, and encouraging setting where swimmers can grow, challenge themselves, and achieve personal goals. We celebrate individual progress while fostering teamwork, health, and essential life skills.

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and suitably qualified coach to lead and develop our squad swimmers in metropolitan west. The successful candidate will create a professional, safe, and engaging environment that supports each athlete’s progression, skill development, and enjoyment of competitive swimming.

Working closely with the Head Coach and the broader coaching team, you will help deliver a high-quality program for competitive Age Group athletes, supported by ongoing mentoring and professional development. This position requires attendance at club and competitive swim meets, completion of administrative tasks, and a willingness to travel between training sites as required.

Hours & Opportunities

Squad training includes both early morning and afternoon sessions. We are seeking a coach who can commit to a minimum of five sessions per week, with potential for up to eight sessions. As the club grows, we anticipate increasing opportunities for additional hours. While this role primarily supports our western metropolitan sites, coaches open to working at our southern locations may have access to expanded coaching availability.

There is potential for progression into a role that includes coaching older Age Group athletes. This is a casual position with the possibility of developing into part-time employment. Ongoing professional development is essential and fully supported.

The ideal coach is passionate, eager to learn, and committed to challenging both themselves and their athletes. They work effectively within a supportive team while demonstrating initiative, independence, and accountability. They take pride in their role and the contribution they make to the program.
