Waverley Gymnastics Centre (WGC) has built an outstanding reputation as an industry leader in WAG through our success in consistently developing international-level gymnasts. Since 2006, WGC has achieved representation at eleven World Championships, four Commonwealth Games and is the only WAG High Performance Program in Australia to have had gymnasts selected to represent Australia at the last five Olympic Games. ROLE OVERVIEW

WGC is looking for passionate and experienced squad coach to lead and inspire our next generation of WAG gymnasts through positive and expert coaching on the floor. We are particularly interested in coaches who have experience in Division 1 ALP 6 - 8, and for the right candidate, this role has the potential to be full time working across our departments at WGC. As an integral team member, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-level coaching, programming, planning, performance reviews and both parent and gymnast engagement. SELECTION CRITERIA

  • WAG Advanced or Advanced Silver qualification or equivalent.
  • Valid and current Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching competitive gymnastics.
  • Squad administration experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in positively impacting the lives of children or young people.
  • Strong understanding of appropriate behaviours when interacting with children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop gymnasts to achieve their highest potential.
  • Passion for the sport and a commitment to creating a safe, positive and nurturing coaching environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
  • Applicants will be required to provide a National (or International) Criminal History Check.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Squad of ALP level 6-8 division 1 athletes training 19 hours per week plus paid planning time and be part of our mentor/mentee program - approx. 22 hours per week
  • More coaching hours available across our Junior Gym and Educational Program
  • For the right candidate squad admin hours are also possibility to make the role full time
