About the Role

The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Brand and Commercial team to develop and implement consumer, marketing and digital strategies aligned to Netball’s vision and objectives. The role is responsible for delivering and reviewing campaigns, activities and reporting that drives awareness, consideration, and conversion for watching, playing, and attending the game.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing Manager and other internal stakeholders to design and implement end-to-end, multichannel marketing campaigns that drive awareness, consideration, conversion of Netball Australia products and events, with a particular focus on digital.
  • Lead and implement paid digital advertising across social media, search engine marketing (SEM), display advertising and other identified channels and associated reporting
  • Support the relationship with any identified agencies from campaign execution to evaluation, taking a lead role in briefing campaigns, objective setting, audience identification, measuring success, optimisation, and evaluation
  • Support the Digital Product Manager in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) initiatives and updates to drive traffic to the Netball website
  • Contribute to the development of digital customer engagement initiatives and new consumer products, ensuring they align to the team and business objectives.
  • Support the Content team in the development of integrated commercial content into owned and paid channels, by providing data-led recommendations on audience and engagement.
  • Identify lead generation and audience growth opportunities and work with the Brand and Commercial team to integrate into marketing and content initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and broader team in projects that support team and business objectives
  • Support the Brand and Commercial team in reporting of marketing campaigns results, against defined objectives and KPIs
  • Share regular learnings from campaigns, to inform and improve knowledge around Netball’s customer and associated growth opportunities
  • Provide advice and support to senior management and teams across the organisation about opportunities and changes in the digital marketing and consumer behaviour space and online tools

Key Position Requirements

  • Relevant degree in marketing, communications or similar
  • At least 3 years in a digital marketing or similar role
  • Demonstrated digital marketing experience and media buying knowledge
  • Experience planning and buying above the line media
  • Demonstrated insight-led and customer-first mindset
  • Demonstrated experience in content planning and production
  • Proven experience in campaign reporting
  • Knowledge of best practice Customer Experience and industry trends
  • Knowledge of the Australian paid media market
  • Client services/stakeholder management experience
  • Professional sports industry experience
  • Solid understanding of the federated sports model

The role is based at Netball’s Head Office in Fitzroy/Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country where you will be spoilt for choice on great coffee spots! Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, travelling and working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required. Our teams work flexibly, and we encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new Manager.
