The Hockey Albury-Wodonga Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the organisation of a number of school, participation and skill programs in the Hockey Albury Wodonga region. A key component of the role will be the organisation of the Sporting Schools programs across the region. The role will also be responsible for on field delivery of the Hookin2Hockey program, Big Field Basics and other participation programs in line with HACT development pathway. The role has autonomy to take the initiative to drive and deliver additional programs aligned with participation and retention. This may include HACT’s social product delivery
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to assist HockeyAW Board with the creation and delivery of the Hockey Albury Wodonga participation plan.
- In conjunction with clubs, organise and manage the delivery of the Hookin2Hockey program to ensure that this product remains consistent and delivers the highest quality of customer satisfaction to ensure participant retention.
- Delivery of the Hookin2Hockey Carnivals and special events.
- Plan and deliver the U10’s – U12’s bridging program – Big Field Basics.
- In conjunction with Hockey ACT promote, organise and quality assure all Sporting Schools Programs to school students. This includes but not limited to ensuring that the program remains fresh and relevant to help promote hockey in a fun and vibrant way to attract participants to playing hockey outside of the school environment.
- Prioritise, organise and manage the delivery of the School Hockey Roadshow’s in the lead up to the season
- In conjunction with the clubs, organise, manage and deliver HockeyAW’s Come & Try day in the lead up to the season
- Develop and deliver concepts and programs which Hockey ACT can deliver through school holiday periods.
- Assist in the delivery and coordination of Hockey ACT’s social and participation programs.
- Responsible for the administration and budgeting of all Hockey Albury Wodonga participation programs. Regular liaison with Hockey ACT staff to ensure continuity across all aspects of the business and sport.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Hockey Australia recognised Coaching Accreditation or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Excellent communication, presentation and conflict management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- High level of enthusiasm and passion with a positive and proactive approach.
- Flexibility to work weekends as required.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Current or a willingness to obtain an NSW & Victorian Working with Children Check
- Hockey ACT will conduct a police check for suitable applicants.
- Sound knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Desirable
- Valid First Aid Certificate or Sports Trainers Qualification.
- A working knowledge of the sport of hockey.

Hockey Albury Wodonga (HockeyAW) is the not-for-profit local sporting organization responsible for the development, governance, promotion and delivery of hockey programs within the Southern Riverina/North East Victoria region. HockeyAW comprises of 9 member clubs and operates 2 facilities; Albury Hockey Fields (2 synthetic fields) and 1 synthetic field at Wodonga Hockey Field.
